Kate MacDuffie, PhD, MA

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and postdoctoral research associate at the University of Washington Autism Center and the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics. I completed my PhD at Duke University, clinical bioethics fellowship at Seattle Children's, and MA in Bioethics at the University of Washington.

My research is focused on understanding the ethical and social impacts of advances in neuroscience on children and adults affected by psychiatric, neurological, and neurodevelopmental disorders.  I engage in conceptual and empirical scholarship with a range of methods including  qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys.

My work is currently supported by a K99/R00 Transition to Independence Award in neuroethics through the NIH BRAIN Initiative.
